Coordination meetings of the Subnational Working Group in Kharkiv region

This week, representatives of the Luhansk Association of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (LAOPD) took part in a regular meeting of the Subnational Working Group (SWG) for Kharkiv Oblast.
LAOPD is a regular participant in these coordination meetings, which are aimed at discussing the current needs of the population, including internally displaced persons, as well as coordinating actions between organizations working in the region.
The following key issues were discussed during the meeting
- the current situation in the area of multi-sectoral cash assistance (MPCA);
- Provision of emergency financial support to people evacuated from the war zones (Emergency MPCA TF);
- updated requests from local governments;
- information on UHF and HNRP programs;
- mapping the potential of organizations working in the Kharkiv region;
- agreeing on measures to avoid duplication of assistance among beneficiaries;
- updating vulnerability criteria and requirements for registration in MPCA programs.
Participation in such meetings allows LAOPD not only to share its experience of working with people with disabilities and IDPs, but also to engage in the development of joint solutions based on the real needs of communities.
We are grateful to our partners and colleagues for effective cooperation and continue to work to ensure that humanitarian support is targeted, coordinated and as useful as possible for those who need it.

LAOOI and the Dnipropetrovsk Administration Join Forces to Advance Accessibility and Inclusion
Luhansk Association of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities Expands Partnership to Promote Accessibility and Inclusion The Luhansk Association of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities continues to strengthen partnerships aimed at creating a more accessible and inclusive environment. A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration and the Luhansk Association of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities. The Memorandum provides a framework for joint efforts to implement the national barrier-free policy, promote accessible environments, and support persons with disabilities and other people with reduced mobility. As part of the cooperation, the parties will work together to: implement barrier-free principles in local communities; organize joint events, round tables, training sessions, and consultations; promote inclusive education, employment opportunities, and social services; develop and implement joint projects and programmes; exchange experience, methodological resources, and best practices; prepare proposals to improve mechanisms for ensuring accessibility and inclusion. This partnership marks another important step in strengthening cooperation between civil society and public authorities to build a society where equal opportunities are not merely declared, but become part of everyday life. Together, we are working to make accessibility and inclusion the standard for every resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

LAOOI and the PRO BONO Legal Clinic Renew Their Partnership
The team of the Luhansk Association of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (LAAOPD) took part in an online working meeting during which cooperation with the PRO BONO Legal Clinic of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University was officially renewed. The meeting brought together Mykola Nadulichnyi , Head of LAAOPD, Viacheslav Romanenko , the Association’s legal adviser, representatives of the Department of Public and Private Law, the Faculty of Law, Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as consultants from the PRO BONO Legal Clinic. The main focus of the discussion was ensuring the right of persons with disabilities to employment and the practical implementation of the provisions of Law of Ukraine No. 4219-IX , aimed at creating equal employment opportunities. Participants also reviewed the experience of several European Union countries, including Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany, and discussed ways to adapt their best practices to the Ukrainian context. Particular attention was paid to the challenges caused by the war, the growing number of veterans, and the urgent need to build a truly barrier-free labour market. As a result of the meeting, the participants identified key areas for future cooperation, including the analysis of Ukrainian and European legislation, research into European integration requirements within Cluster 3: Competitiveness and Inclusive Development , and the preparation of proposals to improve mechanisms for ensuring the right of persons with disabilities to work. We sincerely thank our partners for their openness to cooperation and our shared commitment to developing effective solutions that will contribute to a more inclusive society.

LAOOI visited the “Ortoped” Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Poltava
Rehabilitation Is More Than Recovery — It Is a Return to an Active Life The team of the Luhansk Association of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities , led by its Head, Mykola Nadulichnyi , visited the “Ortoped” Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Poltava. During the visit, the team learned about the center’s work, modern approaches to prosthetic care, and comprehensive rehabilitation services for people who have lost limbs due to war, injuries, or illness. Particular attention was drawn to the fact that the center focuses not only on physical recovery but also on social reintegration and helping people return to independent, fulfilling lives. Rehabilitation equipment, sports activities, daily living skills training, and modern technologies, including virtual reality (VR) solutions, help patients regain their abilities, confidence, and motivation to move forward. For the Luhansk Association of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities, such visits provide an important opportunity to learn from successful practices, explore new approaches to supporting persons with disabilities, and strengthen cooperation between organizations working to promote accessibility, inclusion, and a dignified life for everyone. We sincerely thank the team at the “Ortoped” Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center for their openness, professionalism, and dedicated work in helping people regain their independence, active lifestyles, and confidence in their own abilities.
