Legal assistance nearby: outreach consultations for vulnerable people

  • Three people are standing outdoors on a patch of dry grass. One adult, wearing a colorful patterned dress and blue slip-on shoes, is holding a child. The second adult, dressed in a white outfit, is looking at a smartphone. Behind them is a wooden fence and trees, suggesting a casual moment in a natural or semi-rural setting.
  • Two people are standing outside near a brick wall in a casual setting. One wears a white outfit with matching sneakers; the other wears a purple and black tie-dye ensemble. A small plastic-covered window and a chair draped with clothes appear in the background. The ground is dusty with grass patches, and green branches hang overhead, suggesting a backyard or garden moment.
  • A group of four adults and one child stand outside near a fence and a residential building. One adult holds a booklet, while others engage in friendly conversation. Everyone is casually dressed, and the setting includes grass, a dirt path, and a clear blue sky overhead. Shadows cast by the sunlight suggest a warm day. Events

As part of the project ‘Protection, Health Care and Inclusion for Vulnerable Populations,’ implemented by LAOPD in partnership with VIS, STEP-IN and with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF), the organisation's team of lawyers visits those who need help the most.

LAOPD lawyers work with people who, for various reasons, are unable to seek legal support on their own. Their focus is on:

  • consultations on the rights of internally displaced persons and social protection;
  • assistance in drafting statements, appeals and complaints;
  • explanations of algorithms for action in difficult life situations.

This is about real accessibility. It is about ensuring that no one is left alone with their problems due to a lack of resources or information.

Thanks to the support of its partners and the trust of communities, LAOPD continues to make legal protection more accessible and effective — where it is really needed.
