Participation of LAO in the dialogue platform in Kyiv

  • Conference participants are seated in a hall, listening to a panel discussion. Three speakers — two women and one man — are speaking on stage, with a screen behind them showing a slide about the impact of USAID funding cuts on cluster work and the inclusion of persons with disabilities in humanitarian response.
  • A large seminar room with attendees seated in rows of chairs, facing a panel of speakers at the front. The room features a brick wall and large windows with curtains. A projector screen displays topics related to digital transformation in business, and a banner with a logo is visible. Participants appear engaged, with some taking notes or using laptops.
  • A conference or seminar setting with an audience seated in rows, facing a panel of six speakers at the front. The room has a modern design, featuring brick walls, tiled ceilings, and large curtained windows. A banner with logos is displayed behind the speakers, and a stand with a poster is positioned to the left. Some attendees are using laptops in what appears to be a professional and educational event.

News

On 31 March 2025, Kyiv hosted a dialogue platform ‘Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in the Humanitarian Response in Ukraine: Progress, Challenges and Areas for Further Improvement’, organised by Humanity & Inclusion with the support of WHO in Ukraine.

The event brought together representatives of international humanitarian organisations, national clusters, civil society and organisations of people with disabilities.

The “Luhansk Association of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities“ took part in the event to strengthen the intersectoral dialogue on the inclusiveness of the humanitarian response.

The agenda of the event included:

  • discussion of the impact of changes in international funding on the inclusion of people with disabilities in the 2025 response plans;
  • examples of successful CSO participation in the provision of humanitarian assistance;
  • Consideration of the challenges faced by organisations in implementing an inclusive approach;
  • presentation of interagency cooperation and coordination practices;
  • networking and exchange of experience.

Participation in such events allows us not only to defend the rights of persons with disabilities, but also to formulate sustainable solutions at the level of national humanitarian policy.

We are grateful to the organisers and partners for the meaningful dialogue and openness to cooperation.
