The status of a person with a disability as a result of war: who is eligible and how to apply

  • Two people walk hand in hand along a paved path, both having prosthetic legs. One individual wears a plaid shirt and jeans, while the other is dressed in a jacket and black pants. The image contains Ukrainian text stating: "STATUS OF A PERSON WITH DISABILITY DUE TO WAR: who has the right and how to apply." Logos of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, and the "Ukrainian Social" initiative appear in the top right corner.
  • A group of individuals, including one person with a prosthetic leg and others in wheelchairs, stand together outdoors. The Ukrainian text on the image explains the criteria for obtaining a disability status due to injuries, concussions, mutilations, or illnesses sustained during military actions. The backdrop consists of a public area with trees and a pathway.
  • An informational poster in Ukrainian listing categories of individuals eligible for a specific status. The text is divided into two columns and includes groups such as military personnel injured during combat, participants in national protest actions, individuals exposed to hazardous duties like demining, and civilians affected by war. The poster emphasizes recognition and eligibility for those involved in significant national events or dangerous situations.
  • A Ukrainian informational poster detailing the process of submitting an application and required documents. The poster is divided into two sections: "How to submit an application" and "What needs to be prepared." The left section explains submission methods, including in-person at veteran policy departments or online via the Diia portal. The right section lists required documents such as a photo, an MSEC extract, proof of participation in military actions, and legal representative documents if applicable. The bottom section notes that military personnel without documentation can submit an application, and the department will request the necessary papers. Logos of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and the "Ukrainian Social" initiative appear at the bottom.
  • An informational graphic in Ukrainian with two main sections. The first section titled "Review period" includes an arrow pointing to the phrase "up to 30 days." The second section, titled "A request may be denied if," lists four reasons for rejection: incomplete or falsified documents, false information provided, a court ruling for a serious crime committed during service, or the disability is not related to military actions. A person's hand is visible interacting with a digital interface.
  • An informational poster in Ukrainian providing guidance on how to appeal a decision if denied. The text outlines two options: submitting an application to the authority that issued the denial or filing a court appeal. The poster also mentions access to free legal aid through legal assistance bureaus. A QR code on the right side likely links to additional resources or information.
