The second stream of the training course ‘Barrier-free in action’ has been completed

  • A group of people participates in a training or meeting in a conference room with white walls, large windows, and vertical blinds. Attendees sit in a semicircle of chairs, with a few seated at a table in the back. One person stands and addresses the group. Whiteboards and a screen are visible at the front. The setting is professional, focused on learning or discussion.
  • A woman stands next to a flip chart with handwritten Ukrainian text, likely leading a presentation or workshop. The chart lists signs of emotional exhaustion, including irritability, lack of empathy, strained relationships, guilt, physical symptoms (e.g., headaches), aggression, indifference, and lack of sensitivity. The setting appears to be educational or training-oriented.
  • A man and woman stand in a training room. The woman holds a certificate stating “Kurashova Lina successfully completed the program ‘Barrier-Free in Action: Protection, Resilience, Inclusion.’” Behind them is a presentation slide with the program title and logos of LAOOI, UHF, and partner organizations. A flip chart with notes and a banner of the Luhansk Association of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities are also visible. The scene marks the completion of a training for professionals in social, educational, and medical fields.
  • Group photo of fifteen people in a room with white walls, chairs, and a flip chart. Most hold certificates. In the background, a screen displays the text “Protection. Creation of a Safe Space” along with logos, including UNHCR. A colorful banner with stylized human figures is visible on the right. The scene captures the completion of a training or educational program focused on safety, inclusion, or community support.

The second round of the training course ‘Barrier-free in action: inclusion, protection, sustainability’ has come to an end in Dnipro — three days of intensive work, in-depth discussions, new knowledge and practical skills.

18 participants from social services, medical and educational institutions, as well as non-governmental organisations, went from learning the basics of accessibility to developing their own plans for change in their communities. Each of them is returning with specific tools that can be put into practice in the near future.

This training is not about theory for theory's sake.

It is about action. It is about how professionals can become agents of change in their communities.

It is about transforming knowledge into real solutions for people who face barriers every day.

It is about professional resilience, care and responsibility.

The training was implemented as part of the project ‘Protection, health care and inclusion of vulnerable populations in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions’,

which is being implemented by the Luhansk Association of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (LAOPD) and VIS – Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo with the support of OCHA Ukraine.

We would like to thank the participants, trainers and partners for their trust, involvement and joint work. We continue to work towards creating a barrier-free Ukraine.
