Assessing and improving the accessibility of compact housing for IDPs in Dnipropetrovsk region for vulnerable groups

  • Goal:

    Improving the living conditions of the most socially vulnerable among internally displaced persons (people with disabilities, elderly individuals, single mothers/fathers, and large families) by studying the needs of shelter residents and subsequently equipping the shelters based on the research results.

    A review of 32 compact living sites for IDPs in the Dnipropetrovsk region was conducted, surveying approximately 1,000 individuals currently residing there to assess the quality of living conditions and their suitability for people with disabilities, large families, and elderly individuals.

    Based on the identified needs from the assessment, furniture, medical, and technical equipment were purchased, improving the living conditions of people with disabilities and residents of compact living sites for IDPs in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Additionally, further recommendations were provided to various organizations on improving the conditions in compact living sites for IDPs, particularly for people with disabilities, elderly individuals, and large families.
